Hello all,

I was a victim of rape two months ago and just found out that I am pregnant. I’m 26 years old and single and absolutely terrified. I have not yet decided whether I will keep the baby or give it up for adoption, but either way, I’m going to have to tell friends and family about the pregnancy very soon. I’m scared because I don’t know the first thing about being pregnant or how to make sure the baby gets everything it needs. I’m about 11 weeks along and I’m freaking out because I haven’t started a prenatal vitamin and apparently nuerotube defects form in the first 28 days so now I’m worried the baby will be messed up. As you can probably tell, I’m a little frantic and trying to educate myself. I’m absolutely terrified to tell my family, not because they won’t support me, it’s just not going to be fun telling them how it happened. I reached out to my pastor and will be sitting down with him to talk through it all but if you could all pray for peace, calm, and clarity in the meantime, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

PS-I welcome any private messages from mamas with suggestions.

I am so sorry to hear you were raped. That is truly horrible and nobody deserves to be raped. Now you are pregnant and it seems to me plan on giving the baby life. How wonderful of you that you choose this option in spite of the rape. May God bless you abundantly and your baby. I’m happy to hear that you will be talking to your pastor but also it’s never too early to see an OB who can help you with the prenatal vitamins and things that can be done now. Ask around and find a kind caring OB who will take care of you and your baby while you are pregnant.

In the mean time I will pray for your intentions of peace, clam and clarity. I hope your pastor guides you on how to perhaps talk to your family about this delicate situation.
I hope I understood your post correctly that you feel your family will be supportive of this situation.

God bless you and your baby,
Mary.

Praying for you and the unborn child.

Blessed Mary, give her the strength you had as you watched your son die on the Cross. Guevara her peace and serenity, and help her to make the right choice in all her actions. Amen.

May God continue to give you the strength and courage to go forward under these very difficult circumstances. I will pray for you and your unborn chilld.

Prayers for you! And prayers that everyone around you will be supportive and not pressure you into taking the wrong path. Be not afraid and awaken the “momma bear” instinct.

Don’t worry- you are doing just fine. I think it is commendable that you are choosing to give birth to this baby. That is a hard decision to make and you are a courageous woman for choosing to be a mother for this little soul. Whether you decide to keep the baby or give it up for adoption, may God bless you abundantly.

Many OBGYN’s will not see patients until they are 12 weeks along- mine do not, so don’t feel anxious on that score. You can start taking prenatal vitamins now that you know you are pregnant, but don’t drive yourself crazy thinking you have harmed the baby by not taking them from the moment of conception or something. Becoming a mother is the first step to relinquishing all to God. Moms today seem to think that if they eat all organic, breast feed, exercise a certain amount, shun all cleaning products, and have a natural birth, they should have a perfect baby with no issues. This is the illusion of control. The truth is all depends on God’s grace. In your case, He brought something beautiful out of something very evil. I know it is very hard to trust, but He will give you strength, inner peace and healing if you turn to Him for help and guidance. I’ll be praying for you!

May the Lord guide your every step and give you an abundance of peace.

Walmart has prenatal vitamins which are under $15 dollars usually (One A Day has them and then the store brand).
God bless you for your calmness. Truly God is with you and Our Lady is such a tremendous comfort for a woman having a baby.

Two people come to mind-Ethel Waters was the product of rape and her mother was only 12 years old at the time. Ms. Waters was a beautiful singer and loved Our Lord.

Colin Kaepernick, the football player was born to an unwed mother who placed him with a family when he was 6 weeks old. Colin says that the Holy Spirit told him when he was young that he would play football.

Be of good courage and know that you are never alone in this.🙂

CrazySingerIAm, may God offer you healing at this difficult time. May you call on him for comfort and strength.

Call Upon the Blessed Mother

In dangers, in troubles, in doubts think of Mary, call upon Mary…
If you follow her guidance, you will not go astray.
If you pray to her, you will not give up hope.
If you think of her, you will not do wrong.
If she upholds you, you will not stumble.
If she protects you, you will not be afraid.
If she leads you, you will reach your goal.

Prayer For An Expectant Mother

Mary, Mother of our Lord Jesus, help
CrazySingerIAm during her pregnancy.
Whether she decides to keep her baby or not,
let her be an example of faith, hope, and love
for her courage not to abort her baby.
May her baby grow normally
and may she have an easy pregnancy.
May your Son bring joy to her as He did to you.
I pray this in Jesus name, in union with the Holy
Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.

So deeply sad that you had to go through such a violent violation of your spirit and your body. Being pregnant is already an overwhelming responsibility on its own, combined with being raped it must feel like an insurmountable task.

May Mary, the greatest mother to ever walk this earth, whisper in your ears every moment of your journey and guide you to be as awsome of a mom as she is
I am humbled by the enormity of your crisis. Begging for mercy, and victory for you.

You are extraordinary

Peace and all Good!

Praying for you

Adorable Sacred Heart of Jesus, which so greatly loved men and has not spared anything for them, unite with the Immaculate Heart of Your loving Mother, so full of merciful love, and together be my help, my comfort and my salvation. Amen.

Oh my dear, its not your fault nor do you need to fear. I am so proud of you deciding to do what is best for this baby. God will honor that! I know there is support out there for you. Do you have Catholic Charities in your diosese? They will help council you as well as give you helpful education for this child and their development. Ask them for a mentor to help you carry this pregnancy to full term. I will pray also for your family to understand and if not that you will have the support you need. I will also pray for this child and your decision whether to keep the child to raise or place the child in the arms of a couple wanting to adopt. Both of my grandchildren came through adoption and I pray for their birthmothers. Either way, I will pray for you to have support and His wisdom for this child. You are not alone!

My love in Him,
mlz

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.
