Awhile back, I asked a yoga related question. I decided not to take that class and instead take a Broadway Camp with the same company. Unfortunately, there was yoga involved with today’s session to “relax us” but it made me more stressed. There was some odd “salute the sun” nonsense and I was saying Hail Mary’s and St. Michael’s Prayers and trying to just let God know that I had no intention of believing in this.
I was certainly not relaxed after this at all and when I told my mom, we decided to email the instructor with our concerns, especially after finding out that those poses were part of an actual sun salutations routine.
I have decided that I’m not against some of these poses when not in the yoga context because some are used for legit stretching but this made me worried. If the instructor is upset that we aren’t okay with it, I think I might consider quitting the camp and ask for a refund. If my parents would rather that I do complete the camp, I’ll ask to sit out and do my own stretches.

Please pray for the teacher and for me and the other students! In no way do I want other people affected badly by this is something bad does happen as a result of these routines. Or even just any tension between the teacher and I if that happens. I’d like to dance there but I would rather not have yoga forced on me when I chose not to take the actual yoga class. THIS IS A BROADWAY CAMP! I’d also like to be at peace regarding all of this and know it is in God’s Hands.

I wanted to let you all know that I appreciate your prayers.
The teacher admitted that she hadn’t really thought about what she was doing and saw our point. She has stopped doing it at least for my camp!
