Just wanted to ask for prayers. I haven’t been to a Catholic Mass for 5+ years until a couple months ago. I was a very active member in my parish back then, but some catastrophic life events led to my falling away from going to church. I wound up at a traditional catholic church and eventually left faith altogether even to the point of saying God doesn’t exist. I focused on a lot of negative things for a long time. I’ve come through fighting depression, almost committing suicide and living a rough life the last few years and now that the fog is clearing, I want to focus on the important things such as God and my spirituality through the Church. But through lots of reflection and thought, I have problems with some of the Church’s teachings (please forgive me, I’m not here to create problems with that statement, just wanted to be honest) and that’s why I’m here to ask for prayers and help.

Thank you for any prayers you can send my way.

David, I will keep you in my prayers. I know what it is like to have become completely disillusioned with the Church - no matter where you go, even traditional chapels - and almost lost faith completely.

Pray to Our Lady. Confide your difficulties to Her. She will help you.

I will pray for you daily. I did the same thing as you, but was away for 40 years. When you are ready, talk to a good priest. it will happen, its just a matter of when 😃

Prayers said. May God strengthen you on your continued journey.

That was very humble. God bless you! Prayers

I will pray hard. If there is one thing I learned in life, it is never to leave God or your faith. God will always be there. Your faith is you strength.

Praying for you. Remember that God loves you and He will found a way to bring you home. God bless.

David, you don’t have to apologize for having problems with some of the Church’s teachings. Many, if not most people do! 😉

It’s better to confront the problems and ask the questions than to just go through the motions. Jesus said he would rather we be hot or cold or he will vomit us out of His mouth.

This is a great place to ask those questions!

I will pray that the Holy Spirit guides you on your faith journey and gives you the peace that passes all understanding. 🙂

Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude & wisdom back to the Catholic Church. God bless.

Thank you so much for your prayers! And I will always listen to advice…it is much appreciated. There is just so much to think about with this journey I’ve been on the last few years and how it would effect coming back to the Church. Again, thank you all so much and it’s helpful to know I have people praying for me.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon 1anonymous in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,

and at the hour of our death
Amen.
