Prayers for a friend and me

Hi everyone,

Well, my best friend is going against her parents’ wishes and is seeing this guy who is going to take advantage of her. He dosen’t treat her well, and he tells people behind her back what he wants to do with her. I’m trying to tell her what’s going on, but she won’t listen to me. She’s angry with me that I’m trying to ruin her relationship, but I don’t want her to get hurt because she’s my best friend and I love her. She has been being very ugly and hurtful to me the past few days.

Please pray for my friend that she will have the courage to remain pure and understand that I’m just looking out for her.

Please pray for me that I won’t be so upset and can have courage.

Suffering of loved ones

Our God, please alleviate the trials and sufferings of dear ones when we are unable to relieve their difficulties or when our efforts to assist prove unwelcome.

Continue to bless our loved ones if they abandon relationship with You or drift from the Church that Jesus instituted for our benefit and for worship of God. Bless their sorrowing parents, for we tried to teach and support them, and continue to pray for them.

We are grieved when their relationships and welfare are threatened. In this era, perhaps the most eroding factor in their lives and relationships is stress or addictions. Sometimes difficulties escalate even as we pray and hope. Our anxiety for loved ones sometimes seems unendurable. Please deepen our relationship with You in these trials of the heart.

God, in Your merciful love please carry our families and friends through their labours, their leisure, their joys and trials. Let their relationships and lives flourish in love, faith, and peace. We consecrate our dear ones and ourselves to Your divine mercy, trusting You to work out their salvation.

If they are unable to return to You sooner, let their final choice be for Your merciful love. Thank You for Your care of them, even where it is not manifest. 1999

O Lord, we want to be loved so badly that we allow ourselves to hurt others and to be hurt in order to find acceptance in the eyes of those whom we most adore, but we always want more, never finding satisfaction. Help Jeanne’s friend, Lord, to listen to the counsel of her closest friends and loved ones, to make the right the decision in accordance with Your Most Holy Will, and to find true love in Your Love. And help Jeanne, Lord, to also discern Your Will so that she can remain strong and forgiving.

O Mother, hear our prayers!
