I had an interview on Tuesday and yesterday I was called for a “working interview”. I worked for 4.5 hrs today to see if I liked the job and to see if the manager and Vet liked me. It only pays half of what I was making before, but it has benefits and I’d be a W-2 employee instead of being considered a 1099 worker (I was a FT employee and my old boss tried to cheat the IRS).
I liked the place. It’d be an income for now and I wouldn’t have to pay for my health insurance any more. I pay $225 a month for that. I’d have paid vacations (2 wks) and 6 paid holidays… while I do my clinical externship (which is 160 unpaid hrs) and find a job in a hospital, this can probably help us keep our house. I haven’t been able to make the payment that’s due tomorrow. I have 10 more days to send it in…
Anywho, it’s not the ideal job, but at least I won’t have to pay my own taxes every 3 months and I won’t have to pay my health insurance, oh, and I would get free vet care for my animals.
