Prayers for a Late Friend of Mine

Hello everyone, I haven’t used this site in a while but a tragedy occurred at my high school a few days ago. A classmate of mine, a 17 year old senior that would be graduating today, passed away on Monday from an accidental drug overdose. This is weighing heavily on my heart and the hearts of my community, so I’d just like to initiate some prayer for her and her family which is absolutely devastated.

Lord I pray for this person’s friend who passed away. So many in the US are dying of drug overdose it is a shame. Lord may this person rest in peace, may the be with You Lord in Your presence and with your mother Mary. Amen

all the forces of evil: sin, suffering and death,
and to overcome evil with the force of good;
hatred with the power of love,
your great love for us in Jesus.

Help us never to curse the darkness,
but to join with you in bringing
Your light into this world,

Help us to be instruments of your light
and love by doing one special act of kindness
or by being your special instrument
of reconciliation this New Year.
