Prayers for a Priest

A certain friend of mine, a priest more specifically (who probably would have been at least a bishop) has MS, so I am looking for prayers for him. I have no less then a miracle in mind, and so I turn to you to back up this cause.

There’s an amazing woman in my parish, with MS who always remains positive and involved as she totters along slowly in her wheelie walker, to dail;y Mass, and involvent in parish affairs. I’ll ask her to pray for Father in this diagnosis which must be heart-breaking for him. I’ll pray for him at Mass.
 
Please lord, through our prayers, help this priest and the rest in the whole church to be at peace with you. And may this priest be healed with your love and grace.

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Dear Brother Xavier;
My youngest brother is terminally ill with A.L.S. (“Lou Gehrig’s Disease”) a similar neurological disease and cousin to M.S. I will most certainly offer my most sincere prayers and Mass intentions for this priest.

Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.
 
Thank you, all. Your prayers are greatly appreciated, and I shall be praying for the other causes mentioned here.

Bless this priest whom you have called to serve you. Watch over and protect him, grant him courage and steadfastness in his illness. May he always unite his suffering to yours on the Cross. Grant him your consolation, fill his heart with light and hope, a hope that perseveres, endures and loves despite all difficulties. Strengthen him in his vocation and unite him to yourself that he may be one with you just as you are one with Our Father and the Holy Spirit. Give him wisdom and understanding, right judgement and fortitude. Bless all his efforts to do your will and to live out his calling each day. Bless his ministry, may it bear much fruit. May you always be his refuge and strength, his hope and his joy. Help him to see his illness in the light of eternity. Above all, may he be filled with love, overwhelming Divine love that each day he may know how much you love him and that he may in turn strengthen all those he meets with the love which you have poured into his heart.

And Lord, please heal this priest and cure him, if it is your will. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.

I haven’t seen him in a while. I don’t know how it slipped my mind, but the neurological affects that MS usually has never came upon him.
