I’m traveling to a site across the state for a weekend Carmelite retreat on 9/9 and am asking for your prayers for a safe trip in my old car. I’ll have one passenger to keep safe, as well.

Prayers for a fruitful retreat would also be appreciated.

God bless you, Mary Ellen. As soon as you get in the car, bless yourself and ask the Holy Family, your Guardian Angel and St. Christoper to be with all every mile of the way.

And I hope you have an excellent retreat. I envy you the opportunity that you have of making one. If you remember, say a prayer for me when there. 👍

Prayer for a Safe Journey

Lord, be our guide and our protector
on the journey we are about to take.
Watch over us.
Protect us from accidents.
Keep us free from harm to body and soul.
Lord, support us with Your grace when we are tired.
Help us be patient in any trouble which may come our way.
Keep us always mindful of Your presence and love.
Amen.

Prayer for a Retreat

Lord Jesus Christ, you told the apostles to retire to a desert place and rest a while. I am taking this time to follow your example. Grant that I may obtain all the fruits that I can from this retreat. Enable me to make it in union with you, to know myself better and to get closer to you. Help me to listen attentively, to ponder prayerfully, and to speak wisely. Let me emerge from this spiritual renewal as a more committed Christian, better equipped to advance along the path that you have laid out for me. Amen.
