Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Blessed are you, God of all creation;
You have given us Your Son as our example,
And have made us temples of Your
Holy Spirit.
Fill this family with Your light and peace.
Give them the grace to meet life’s challlenges.
Have mercy on them and all who are in need,
And bring them to everlasting joy with You.
Amen.

The Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus
Holy Mary Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen

I want to thank Dee S for beginning this thread, and for all of you for continuing to pray for David’s repose and for the comfort of our family! This is a difficult time for us. David has 7 brothers and 2 sisters and their families and we are all struggling to make sense of this very tragic situation.

In the early morning hours when the apartment is quiet and still, I can see the scene again and again. I try to tell myself that he is finally out of pain but every night, in my mind, I see his broken body on the ground and realize anew that he is bleeding to death there on the ground, alone. And the tears run down my face. The only comfort I have found has been in the arms of Our Blessed Mother. She grieves with me as she grieved for her son all those years ago

I have tried to give this whole situation to God, to “surrender” it, but surrender implies a placing of the whole situation into the Lord’s hands without grabbing it away again and clutching it tightly to my breast as I relive the sorrow over and over.

Please continue to pray that I will be able to finally give it over into the Lord’s keeping, trusting that all that happens will finally be redeemed in the sovereign timing of the Lord,

Thank you all!

HAIL HOLY QUEEN
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy
Hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.

Turn then O most gracious Advocate thine eyes of mercy towards us
And after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus
O clement, O Loving, O sweet Virgin Mary
Pray for us O holy Mother of God
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

DesertSister, I read this with great sadness for you,and want to say that I admire your courage and fortitude and thank Our Mother for obtaining these graces for you. I think you are already giving it over, thousands of times in a day…the peace and resignation will also come soon in “the sovereign timing of the Lord”.

Please try not to think of him as dying alone, even though he may not have had human consolation he most certainly had Divine assistance and graces that only he himself would have been aware of. Comfort yourself with this sister, as it is a most definite thing.

“Can you not buy two sparrows for a penny? And yet not one falls to the ground without your Father knowing. Why every hair on your head has been counted. So there is no need for you to be afraid.” Mt 10:29-31

** Pater noster, qui es in cælis, sanctificetur nomen tuum; adveniat regnum tuum; fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra. Panem nostrum cotidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra, sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris; et ne nos inducas in tentationem Sed libera nos a malo. Amen

Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen. **
