Prayers for a very broken person

I know someone who is just in a terrible mess and so far from God. I just feel so sad thinking about it. 😦 Could you please pray for her?

There are many who are in such situations but our dear Lord has place this person on your heart which is a blessing. His Holy Spirit is at work! Yes, I will pray!

May God lift this person from the despair that drives them so far from His holy presence. I pray that God reaches your friend at the right time and place in their life and that their union be strong and fruitful.

Lord, help her to find You in her life, even in the broken pieces.
Lord help her to know how dearly You love her.
Help her to accept any mistakes and move on, not berate herself,
and help her to face trials with hope and faith,
and to find joy in anything that is good.

This person also has some fascination with St. Anthony, so I shall ask him for his intercession.

I forget the name of the St- I think it was Mary- she had a great deal of sin in her life and she happened to be on a pilgrimage (for the wrong reasons) to the Holy Land, where she is suddenly confronted with a situation whereby she finds herself before a relic of the cross. She goes to venerate the cross, but the door jams. It won’t open for her, but it opens for others.

Anyway, she feels the overwhelming desire to venerate the cross. She turns to God in prayer, and God allows her to come in. From that point she turns her life over to God, and was later canonized.

I have prayed that God does a similar thing for your friend. Often people are allowed to wander, and sometimes they return.

In this case she could return by what you are doing with offering prayers for her. Or, God could present Himself in a way, as he did to the Saint I mention above.

That’s at least two ways! All we need to do is pray, and trust.
 
Lord Jesus Christ, most merciful Saviour of the world, we humbly beseech You, by Your most Sacred Heart, that all the sheep who stray out of Your fold may soon be converted to You, the Shepherd and Bishop of their souls, who lives and reigns with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, world without end.

Holy Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
give aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace, console the lonely,
comfort the lost or hopeless, guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
soften those with hardened hearts,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go,
show us the way to do the right thing,
protect those who are in danger, and guide us from every evil;
may all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
