Hello friends! My name is Scott, and I’ve been Episcopalian, but (ultra-long story short) I cannot remain there any longer. I’m pro-Life and am treated as a villain for it. I’m devoted to the Blessed Virgin; how can I fellowship with those who would deny the virgin birth of our Lord? And I’ve read too much church history and too many Early Church Fathers to remain Protestant.

Basically, I want to leave and join the Catholic Church - but I’m allowing fear to stop me (hard thing for a man to admit, but it’s the truth!). I’m afraid of what friends and family will say. I’m afraid of discouragement, because RCIA is months away - and I work or take classes at night, so attendance will be very difficult. And I’m a little bit afraid of the big “Protestant to Catholic” leap. Anyway…I desperately need prayers for wisdom, for courage, and for clarity. I need to dig deep and just commit to visiting a Catholic parish this Sunday, and hopefully getting a chance to meet with a priest. It’s tough to visit by yourself. Thank you all, and God bless you!

Dear Scott, when I read your prayer intention I couldn’t help but feel excited at how God has led you to Catholicism. I will be praying for you.

I am praying for you. I converted two years ago (United Methodist to Catholic) and I can tell you this: you will not regret it.

If you have studied the early Church fathers, you know where you need to go. God will make it possible for you. Pray for guidance, and don’t be afraid to make the leap of faith.

If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to PM me. God bless you!

Praying for you from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Short reading Jeremiah 15:16 ©
When your words came, I devoured them: your word was my delight and the joy of my heart; for I was called by your name, Lord, God of hosts.

Short Responsory
All you righteous, rejoice in the Lord: praise is fitting for loyal hearts.
– All you righteous, rejoice in the Lord: praise is fitting for loyal hearts.
Sing a new song to the Lord.
– All you righteous, rejoice in the Lord: praise is fitting for loyal hearts.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
– All you righteous, rejoice in the Lord: praise is fitting for loyal hearts.

You are in my prayers . Your conscience tells you that the Catholic church is where you need to be . Welcome home . May God Bless you and keep you .

Praying for you!

As one Catholic journalist recently remarked about the many Anglicans coming to Holy Mother Church, “C’mon in, the water’s freezing!”

I’m so happy for you Scott! You’ve made the decision so now you need to talk to
a priest about your situation. Once you do that, you’ll know how the process will
unfold and I hope some of your fear will be put to rest. Welcome home!
I will pray for you.

Scott, never fear; I am going through something very similar to your trials. I am in the process of RCIA right now. I am converting from going to the United Methodist Church my entire life except for a brief time at a Southern Baptist church.
I will keep you in my prayers. By your devotion to Mary, I can tell you are serious about this.
God bless and PAX.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us form the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your mercy. Amen.

Scott, when it comes to faith, you don’t have to answer to anyone except God alone.

Praying that you will have the courage to take the leap, make your appointment a.s.a.p. and “swim the Tiber” …

God bless you on your journey!
