After taking a break during the summer, I’m back.

Anyway, I’m requesting that you pray for my childhood friend, Alex, and her husband Tye. They’ve been together for a long time and married in June of 2009. Recently, Tye was deployed to Afghanistan for six months (he’s in the Army) and this is his third time. Though Alex has been through this twice, it’s still difficult for her.

I’m asking that you pray that God gives Alex strength and for Tye’s mental, physical, and emotional health during this time and when he comes home. Thanks.

Alex and Tye . . . I’ll pray for them.
May the Holy Spirit surround and comfort them today and tomorrow.
Amen.

Praying for Alex and Tye from Iraq.

Suggest to Tye that he pick up (if he doesn’t already have one) a small booklet of Catholic prayers published by the Knights of Columbus and the Archdiocese for the Military Services “St. Michael the Archangel, Protect Us in Battle”. One of the best booklets I’ve ever found.

Praying in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit

God our Father,
maker and lover of peace,
to know You is to live,
and to serve You is to reign
All our faith is in your saving help;
protect us from violence
and keep us safe from weapons of hate.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen

Holy Mother Mary bless Tye and Alex. Embrace the, with your love. Send the angels to protect them.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

x3: Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

We fly unto thy patronage, O holy Mother of God;
Despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
