Prayers for baby Leo who sustained brain damage from a difficult birth

My mom was at the hospital today visiting her new nephew. She met with a mother and baby (Leo) who sustained brain damage from a difficult birth a few days ago and was just taken off a ventilator this morning. He is breathing on his own but his future is uncertain.

Please offer your prayers for baby Leo and his family for whatever comes next.

Prayer for Sick Child

St. Gerard, who, like the Savior, loved children so tenderly and by Your prayers freed many from disease and even death, listen to us who are pleading for Baby Leo. We thank God for the great gift of Baby Leo and ask Him to restore this baby to health if such be His holy will. This favor, we beg of You through Your love for all children and mothers. Amen.

Place your angels around baby Leo and his family. Send your grace to strengthen them. Leo’s future is in your hands. He is yours. We only have our children on loan. the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal baby Leo. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into baby Leo’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
