My pew buddy. We met at Mass quite a few years ago and she is the female counter part of Elwood P. Dowd in the movie Harvey. She never meets a stranger, invites those she meets to come to her house for dinner and is a good Catholic. She adopts everyone and no one goes hungry and everyone becomes part of her family. She was instrumental in bringing me back to the Church and has been a wonderful second Mother to me and her son Leon is my son’s Godfather. She has been a remarkable influence on our lives. God truly wanted us to meet each other.

Clare was recently diagnosed with lung cancer (never smoked) and is now in hospice. I can’t stop crying. I will miss her tremendously and I am so thankful to have met her. Please God just don’t let her suffer.

Please say a prayer for her.
 
She sounds like a remarkable woman.You’re very blessed to meet her.I certainly hope the prayers of the forum may help her.

Loving God I praise and thank You for the goodness and love that Clare has lived and shared with all those around her. Let every moment of her life, and now of her illness, be testament of Your Spirit within her, and help her to complete all for which You gave her life.

Please receive all her prayers and suffering in union with Your divine Son,
and comfort and bless all who love her,
and in a special way, her grateful friend.

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty,” “The Wonder-Worker,” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.

For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

You are blessed to have Clare as a friend and she is blessed to have you as a friend. Through the intercession of St. Peregrine, may our Lord bless Clare with peace and comfort here on earth in her final days before God calls her to eternal life.

Everyone thank you so much. Your prayers for Clare have really helped me too. Tomorrow I am going to morning Mass and will ask God for blessing for all of you. I will also say prayers for everyone here on CAF.
