Today I guess I truly understood what Slavation only being found through the Church meant in a conversation with my brother. I had always thought it meant a possibility for those who are Christian in general for some reason but no. For some reason I thought THAT was the Church referred to and maybe it was blissful thinking. I also didn’t know it was infallible which was something I learned today. I really do understand why but it’s heartbreaking that so many who choose to not be Catholic or really don’t know otherwise and think it is just another religion are not part of the Church 😦
So, today, I really felt saddened because of all the friends and people I know who are not Catholic (or who are and disregard their Faith) and the family I have who has fallen away from the Church.
I know there is invincible ignorance and i know that we can never fully know if someone is in Heaven or not and that it is up to God to make that final choice for that person’s eternity but it really made me sad.
I ask for prayers for those I know who need to return to the Church and those I know who do not know about the One True Faith and that they may come to find it and believe.

God our gracious Heavenly Father
I pray and ask in the name of Christ Jesus that loved ones and strangers be granted wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and experience the grace of repentence, faith, forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Amen

@Footprints, please put your heart at ease.

First of all, the Catholic Church recognizes Protestants as Christians.

818 “However, one cannot charge with the sin of the separation those who at present are born into these communities [that resulted from such separation] and in them are brought up in the faith of Christ, and the Catholic Church accepts them with respect and affection as brothers. . . . All who have been justified by faith in Baptism are incorporated into Christ; they therefore have a right to be called Christians, and with good reason are accepted as brothers in the Lord by the children of the Catholic Church.”

819 "Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth" are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: “the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.” Christ’s Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church. All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him, and are in themselves calls to “Catholic unity.”

Second of all, the Church says non-Christians can be saved.

846 Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the gospel of Christ or his Church but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience— those too may achieve eternal salvation.

I will offer a prayer for conversions of fallen-away Catholics and for your heart to be at ease.

Prayer for Conversion of Sinners

Lord Jesus Christ, most merciful Savior of the world,
we humbly beseech You, by Your most Sacred Heart,
that all the sheep who stray out of Your fold may one
day be converted to You, the Shepherd and Bishop
of their souls, who lives and reigns with God the Father
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, world without end. Amen.

Prayer for Peace of Mind

Fortify me with the grace of Your Holy Spirit,
and give Your peace to my soul that I may be
free from all needless anxiety, solicitude, and
worry. Help me to desire always that which is
pleasing and acceptable to You so that Your
will may be my will. Through Christ Our Lord,
amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Hail Mary
Full of grace
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus
Holy Mary
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of death, Amen.

Prayer to Saint John Paul II for the Return of Lapsed Catholics

Saint John Paul II, as Pope you worked tirelessly for the return of those separated from God and cut off from His Church. Now that you look upon the face of the Lord in heaven, I ask you to intercede for those who need to return to the Church. May God’s grace bring them back to the practice of the faith and remove all obstacles that prevent them from receiving His abundant mercy, which flows sacramentally through the heart of His holy Church. Through the intercession of Mary, the Mother of God, their guardian angels, their patron saints and through your watchful intercession, Saint John Paul II, may they receive pardon from their sins and freedom from whatever hinders their return to the arms of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Saint John Paul II,
pray for the conversion of those who do not know about the One True Faith. Amen

That the true church may grow!

Our Father, Hail Mary. Glory Be. AMEN
