Prayers for financial peace

Please pray for me. I’m feeling really overwhelmed with the number of unexpected expenses we had had come up this summer months:

$700 car repair
$500 in dentist bills
$400 in homeschooling costs (first year so we didn’t really know what to budget for)
$100 garbage disposal replacement
$200 plumbing bill
$300 medical bills
and on top of those, our van needs $1000 in repairs on the AC, but the mechanic said we can wait until spring for that.

We have a fully funded emergency fund that we haven’t had to touch and likely won’t have to touch, but I’m still really stressed out that every time we start to save a little money (ideally for a car replacement, or college funds), it gets spent the very next month.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

In this time of uncertainty,

Be my oasis of grace and peace in a world of tension and turmoil;
Help me to carry my cross gracefully, as you did in Your Passion;
Help me to follow Your beam of light in the midst of this darkness;

Thanks for all your prayers. I believe they worked, I’m more at peace with our financial situation now - mainly because the car repairs went up to $2,800 and we got $1,500 more in dentist bills so we had no choice but to dip into our emergency fund. Now that we’ve broken into it, I’m relieved that it was there when we needed it and I’m praying that we can build it back up quickly.

God is good, always.
