Praying from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 113A (114)
Israel set free from Egypt

When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob’s people from a land of strangers,
Judah became his sanctuary and Israel his domain.

The sea saw it, and fled; the Jordan flowed backwards at the sight;
the mountains leapt like rams; the hills, like yearling sheep.

Sea, what was it, what made you flee? And you, Jordan, why did you flow uphill?
Mountains, why did you leap like rams? Hills, like yearling sheep?

Tremble, Earth, at the presence of the Lord, the presence of the Lord of Jacob,
who has turned the rock into a pool of water and made a fountain out of the flint.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

I am praying.

May the Holy Spirit guide her in this and give her courage to move on.
May she feel Mary’s loving arms embracing her at all times and giving her hope that after all this she will find peace and joy again in her life.

Alma

Thank you very much, Alma. Your Prayer is very much appreciated and valued and the prayers of all. It is a dreaful and frightening time for her and she is definitely counting on prayer to take her through it all to a happier place and time…and rather than an event it will be a process I think and a journey…and it has been a painful journey to this point…

Thank you, John, for your very kind and also very wise thoughts…and a beautiful prayer. My friend is of great Faith and trust in God but it is a very risky situation for her and an unpredictable one…but her trust is never shaken. She will read this thread.
It is quite a while since I have ‘spoken’ with you, John, and you stay in my own mind and heart often and prayerfully for your own intentions.

Blessings, John…and with my regards…Barb:)

I am really glad to hear that you ear and teeth pain has been relieved…you did endure it for a very long time. I hope that your family and friends are well also…Barb:)

Praying very hard for your friend.

May she feel the love of our Father within her heart, may the Holy Spirit guide her words and actions and the shield of St. Michael as her defender protect her during this difficult time. Hopefully she will feel the strength of the prayers being offered for her as a warm, strong hug and encouragement that as our sister in Christ we are all concerned and will continue in prayer for her.

Jesus we place this person in Your care. Please lead her to the flourishing life that You desire for her.

Thank you very much Sjegts, Rocket and Trishie and to all who are praying, you remain in both my friend’s and my own prayers. My friend is reading this thread and it is prayer that is confirming her in courage, fortitude and hope and especially the prayers of others and she is very warmed and very grateful, humbled, that others are praying for her, as am I.

Blessings all and my regards…Barb:)

Praying from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 26 (27)
Keeping faith in time of peril

The Lord is my light and my help: whom should I fear?
The Lord protects my life: what could terrify me?
When they come to do me harm, to consume my flesh,
my enemies and my persecutors, it is they who stumble and fall.

If their armies encamp against me, my heart will not fear;
if battle flares up against me, even then will I hope.

One thing I beg of the Lord, one thing will I ask: that I may live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
so that I may behold the joys of the Lord and always see his temple.

For he will shelter me in his tent in the time of evils.
He will hide me in the hidden parts of the tabernacle; then raise me up on a rock,
lift me high up above the enemies who surround me.

In his tabernacle I will offer him a sacrifice of shouts, of songs, of psalms to the Lord.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

I do pray for your friend and I know the LORD is watching over her . Thanks for your prayers for me and please also keep me in prayer. thanks Barbara , your brother in Christ, John

Phoenix and thank you for sharing and praying the Psalm from today’s Hours. John, I thank you again my friend for the reassurance that Jesus is indeed watching over us all, rest assured you and yours and your intentions are in my own daily prayer. Loumb, thank you too very much indeed.

With great humility and thankfulness, I thank all of you praying from the bottom of my heart and I know from the bottom of my friend’s heart for your prayers…….very much needed and oh so very much appreciated, giving my friend great consolation and comfort and courage – hope and light in her plight and in her future. May Our Lady of Perpetual Help gather you all and us into her own ardent constant prayer for her children.

Thank you again……….my warm regards………….and God’s richest blessings……….Barb

My friend sent me an email this morning, asking that I update this thread as below. Obviously she will, within the next three weeks, be moving into an overwhelmingly difficult part of her life that is extremely stressful and worrying for her. Your prayers are truly valued and appreciated:
Quote:
"My friend continues to greatly need prayers. Definitive actions have been taken and the day she must leave is growing very close.
Please pray especially that her husband’s heart will soften and any desire for revenge will be removed."

Praying from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 90 (91)

He who lives under the protection of the Most High
dwells under the shade of the Almighty.
He will say to the Lord:
“You are my shelter and my strength,
my God, in whom I trust.”

For he will free you from the hunter’s snare,
from the voice of the slanderer.
He will shade you with his wings,
you will hide underneath his wings.
His faithfulness will be your armour and your shield.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day;
nor the plague that walks in the shadows,
nor the death that lays waste at noon.

A thousand will fall at your side,
at your right hand ten thousand will fall,
but you it will never come near.
You will look with your eyes
and see the reward of sinners.
For the Lord is your shelter and refuge;
you have made the Most High your dwelling-place.
Evil will not reach you,
harm cannot approach your tent;
for he has set his angels to guard you
and keep you safe in all your ways.

They will carry you in their arms
in case you hurt your foot on a stone.
You walk on the viper and cobra,
you will tread on the lion and the serpent.

Because he clung to me, I shall free him:
I shall lift him up because he knows my name.
He will call upon me and for my part, I will hear him:
I am with him in his time of trouble.
I shall rescue him and lead him to glory.
I shall fill him with length of days
and show him my salvation.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
