Prayers for Grace, 6 year old with serious flu (UPDATE: she’s recovered)

Hi all,

My cousins little girl is very ill w influenza and has contracted pneumonia as a complication. Her parents and family are worried sick. As you know, this is a very bad flu season, and children and the elderly are the most vulnerable.

Please pray for her to recover, and for her family.

God, if it comes down to it, take me instead.

A Prayer to St. Gerard Majella for a Sick Child

St. Gerard, who, like the Savior, loved children so tenderly and
by your prayers freed many from disease and even death,
listen to us who are pleading for the cure of Grace. We thank
You God for the great gift of this girl and ask You to heal her
from flu and pneumonia if such be Your holy will. This favor,
we beg of You through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

I was given my middle name after St. Gerard because my mother had five miscarriages and her doctors thought it was likely she’d miscarry me. So my mother asked for his intercession and promised to name me after him if all went well.
