Prayers for Grace Handling Eye Issues

Dear CAF,

Please pray that our Lord will grant me the grace and strength and courage to handle my vision challenges and any future obstacles. I have been so grateful for your prayers over the past several years and find myself in need of your prayers once again.

I recently found out I have a cataract in one eye and probably a cataract in the other eye as well. At 34 I thought I was young for this but it turns out I will be fortunate if cataracts are my only "new " eye challenge. Regardless, my goal is to avoid any additional eye surgeries for as long as possible but I will follow my doctor`s advice.

I have a doctor appointment next week and seek your prayers that God will grant me the grace and strength to walk the road ahead regardless of the outcome. I am so very blessed to see as well as I do and I sometimes forget this. The gift of sight is such a blessing even when its not “20/20.”

Please keep me in your prayers. I pray that my vision will stay at its current level and that God will grant me the gifts of grace and strength regardless of what lays ahead.

Praying for you. I had cataract surgery on both eyes in 2008. It turned out great, after wearing glasses for 60 years, I now only need them for reading. Praying for the same success for you.

Thank you 244Rocket and to everyone else praying for me. I am glad cataract surgery was so successful for you. I am at a high risk for retinal detachment and have some other complicating factors so will only do surgery as a last resort. I am hoping they wont get worse. Ill see what the doctor recommends next week.

Yeah, I’ve definitely had eye issues as well …
including a surgery that didn’t completely solve things,
however due to the prayers of two friends,
one of them a CAF member,
and then with some help from an eye doctor,
things are greatly improved as of now.

Thank you so much for your prayers. I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon so hopefully that will go well. I am hoping it will be okay to delay surgery for as long as possible. And I am hoping my only new eye problem is cataracts but most likely it is a combo of cataracts and retinal degeneration. I feel 34 going on 90. I could not ask for a more skilled doctor so am grateful for that. I know I need to take each day as it comes but it is very hard not to be anxious.

Please keep me in your long term prayers if you are able to. I would really appreciate it. The outcome with my eye doctor was not what I had hoped. I was prepared for it, and things could be a lot worse and I am glad they are not. But it is clear I have a very hard long road ahead of me and I know I am going to need a lot of grace from God to pick myself back up and keep going.

I am very grateful God provided me an excellent and very honest eye doctor. And I know God will take care of me regardless. But my outlook on the eye front is not what I hoped for and it stinks. I am glad it is not worse but it still really stinks. Losing vision stinks no matter where you are in life and despite your age. But I am 34 and still single, and even though I know God is with me, in the phsycial and emotional sense, I am walking down this road alone and it terrifies me. The finacial aspect also really scares me. I have never felt more alone and I dont want to go down the road I am headed on. But I know it is Gods will, and not mine, and I want his will to be done. I don`t know if that makes sense…

Please keep me in your prayers. I really need them.

Thank you so much for all of your prayers. I appreciate it very much. Your prayers literally lift me up because I have been very depressed. I used a software magnification program at work and have been having computer problems so it adds to my stress.
