Just so that people don’t think me completely insensitive, I’ll give you something real to pray for. I’ve been fined for saying that a request for prayers for a dog reveals an undue investment of emotional capital in a pet. So here goes: My son in law’s cousin Jenny gave birth last week. Apparently the child is victim of some obscure genetically linked malady which when found in a new born results in death before the age of two years. Both parents seem to be carriers. Joshua has been baptized and anointed, so he is fine. I don’t think we need to pray for him. It’s the parents that are the immediate concern. I know that my own mother was devastated when she lost her first child to spina bifida. What I’m asking for is prayer for the family, mother, father and older brother (pre-schooler).
