I have lost a large manila envelope that had paperwork proving that my father had a roof put on his house (the one I inherited) in 2012. I need them to provide documentation for the insurance company, to back up the fact that the roof was replaced in that year. I found them yesterday, verified the year, and clearly labeled them "ROOF PAPERS", and then... they just disappeared. I have looked everywhere I know to look. I have sought St Anthony's intercession, which usually works within minutes, but this time it's not happening.
The insurance company will probably just take my word for it (and if they won't, I'll be seeking out another insurance company), but it would be far better to have the papers in hand, so they can send them to their underwriters. It would be a very good thing if I could find them. When I took out the policy (which took an Act of Congress in and of itself, they have a very hard time dealing with second homes that aren't rental property), and could not tell them at the time when the roof was replaced, they told me I would have to agree to have a roof put on within twelve months. If I can prove that the roof was put on in 2012, or failing that, if they will take my word for it, I probably won't have to replace the roof. There's no need for it, the roof is in fine shape.
Humbly seeking everyone's prayers.
