Hello my Brothers and Sisters in Christ

Last week, while being hosted by a dear Jewish couple in Philadelphia, I met another dear person named Maggie.

Maggie, a devout Roman Catholic, is 63 and has had Parkinson’s disease for 15 years now.

I stayed with both Maggie and her husband Mike all of last week. We had pre-op testing at the same hospital too. I became very close with both of them.

Maggie can no longer type because her hands shake and are curled. And so she has asked me to thank you all so much for your prayers for her from a prayer request I included in a previous posting.

So I once agian would like to post a request prayers for Maggie’s overwhelmingly successful surgery which will be on Monday (10/20).

Maggie is very scared as she will have to be awake throughout this surgery. She will have to have her brain drilled into while she is awake and she is very scared.

Please remember her to St. Rita and St. Jude, patroness and patron saints of impossible causes, and to all of our great Saints when you have a moment.

As always I (and now Maggie) are praying fervently for the intentions of all of you who read and post to this website.

Thank you so much.

VitoJoseph 🙂

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen

Georgia and Mike will be in my prayers.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

Vito, I’m praying; I’m glad to know her name.

I’ve also asked Sally, my friend who had the Parkinsons surgery 2 months ago, and her husband to pray for Maggie. They said to tell her not to be afraid and “Hi from Sally and Doug!” and she’s in their prayers, too.

VitoJoseph, I will be praying for Maggie and her husband. May the Lord also bless you for your consideration of others.

Jesus please grant Your merciful healing to Maggie, and grant many blessings to her and Mike.
Please bless Vito for asking our prayers for them

I will pray for Maggie, VJ, and I’m still praying for you too! I hope things are going well for you 🙂

I’ll pray for Maggie throughout the day on Monday. I can only imagine how frightening it must be for her.

Here is a prayer which I hope may be of help to her:

BEFORE SURGERY PRAYER

Almighty God,
you know my inmost being,
the secrets of my body and soul.
Fill my heart with trust,
even as I fear,
and bless the surgeons and nurses
and all who work to help and care.
Be near, gently sustaining me,
and supporting them in their skills.

Amen.
