I’m asking for you all to pray for another transplant friend of mine. Her name is Megan and she is experiencing severe lung rejection. She has been at Loyola since September 6th. She and I actually met July 31st at the U.S. Transplant Games in Wisconsin. Even though she couldn’t participate like me (she was/is on oxygen) I was drawn to her due to her sweet manner and beautiful smile. 🙂

She is alert but on a ventilator. In a few days, if her health doesn’t improve, her family will have to make some difficult decisions in how to treat Megan. 🤷

I’ve already lost two transplant friends this year (back in May and within 72 hours of each other) and I’m not sure if I can take a 3rd loss. 😦

And as you would imagine, whenever stuff like this happens I always ask myself “why am I still here and doing so well?” (I’m 14 years post heart/double lung transplant and I’m doing great!)

Was just having a similar conversation on the phone this evening with a CAF friend about God sparing our lives and the importance of living then to pray and follow His Will.

Praying for Megan …

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Megan,

May God’s will be done!!!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus, nunc et in hora Mortis Nostrae!

I thank God for your continuing health, and for the warmth and kindness you have for others in your position.
Loving God please continue to give Kimothy health and grace, and the willingness to support and pray for others…

Please be mindful of all those who go through this amazing opportunity for a new chance at living, and console those and the families and friends of those whose systems cannot manage to successfully recover.

Please lay Your hands gently upon Megan

Hail Mary, full of grace,

Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,

I have a friend who is a double lung and kidney transplant survivor. She had lung rejection two years ago and thanks to photopherisis she is doing well. I will be praying for you and your friends!

Holy Mother Mary please bless Megan and grant her grace and healing. Embrace her and may the angels protect her.
