Prayers for Mikey

Mikey is a horse who is boarded at the same stable as my horse. Yesterday morning, when the stable owners went out to the field to bring him inside, he was down and couldn’t get up.

He’s at an excellent equine hospital now, being treated for encephalitis and spinal cord injury (as of the last e-mail I received from Mikey’s owner, they still don’t know what’s wrong). He isn’t showing any improvement today, and he is in a sling–he can’t stand on his own.

Pray for a rapid recovery. Pray that it isn’t EPM (an encephalitis caused by an organism in possum feces), which could potentially strike any of the other horses.

Lord, please help Mikey to recover speedily so he can be well for his master ASAP. May he not have EPM. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.
 
Thank you for praying with me. 🙂

Mikey passed last night, with his loving owners, Ben and Sara, by his side. Even in their grief, they are asking the vets to complete the testing they had started, so they can pass along any information to the rest of our “barn family” in the event that he had a contagious disease.

Please continue to keep Ben and Sara in your prayers.
