I watched Mother Angelica live in my teen years and now in re-runs. Her impact on my spiritual life has been great; I like to think of her as my spiritual grandma. I haven’t heard a recent update on her health but feel inclined to pray that she is comfortable and resting well.

In one of her episodes she explained the Anima Christi prayer and taught me an appreciation for it.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from Christ’s side, wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds hide me
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee
From the malicious enemy defend me
In the hour of my death call me
And bid me come unto Thee
That I may praise Thee with Thy saints
and with Thy angels
Forever and ever
Amen

Praying with you for Mother Angelica’s continued health & recovery.

What a thrill to find Mother Angelica’s talks on youtube! I didn’t know about her before (and she doesn’t know me of course) but I feel like she is an old friend, or better, grandmother. She has it all: tenacity, courage, humor, knowledge of doctrine, sympathy and just beams love. The last I read about her she was ill (in her 90’s?) with a stroke that prevented her from speaking. My ardent wish is to meet her sometime (?) and tell her how much I LOVE her!!!

I’m a protestant who values Mother Angelica a lot. She is in my thoughts and prayers, here’s the latest update from the “Our Lady of the Angels Monastery Family Newsletter” for the Spring of 2015;
Right around Christmas, Mother Angelica’s pulse rose very high, causing us concern. But a day or two later, it went back to its normal range. Perhaps Mother was just excited over the Birth of Jesus.
As most of you know prior to her stroke in 2001, Mother Angelica had fallen and broken her arm. While she was waiting in the Emergency Room at the hospital for the doctor to come in and x-ray her arm, she said to those of us with her, “I never asked for suffering, but if God sends it, I won’t refuse it.” Mother seemed to sense that she would not only suffer the pain of her broken arm, but even more. We believe she foresaw something the rest of us could not see, and perhaps Our Lord was calling on her to suffer with Him for souls, or some special cause. God’s ways are mysterious. A week or so later, she suffered her debilitating stroke, and Mother indeed accepted her suffering. Mother once wrote, “if He, as God-Man had to ‘suffer in order to enter into His Glory,’ then we too must suffer in order to prepare ourselves for our glory.” Suffering is the greatest form of love and Mother Angelica’s many years of “loving immolation” in union with Jesus on the Cross benefits all her spiritual children and will win for her a great crown of glory.
We appreciate all the beautiful testimonial letters you send to Mother thanking her for the spiritual help she has given you through her programs and the Network. God love you!
My apologies for any typo’s.

I will gladly pray for Mother Angelica. I used to watch her shows in reruns as well, and always got valuable insight into the Faith.

Praying for Mother Angelica. 🙂

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil

I’ll be praying for her too. She was a big reason I returned to the Church after 20 years. I watched her program on EWTN and how she stressed Confession and I came back. I wonder how many souls she’s saving by watching her on You Tube too! She will be surely declared a saint after her departure from this life.

I think too she has such a great sense of humor throughout her life! And what an inspiration to all of us.

Holy Michael the Archangel defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the Power of God,
thrust down to hell satan and all the wicked spirits,
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession and was left forsaken. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, a sorrowful sinner. Despise not my words, O Mother of the Word, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen

I will include our Beloved Mother Angelica and everyone here during rosary hour

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.
