CradleCath thankyou so much for the update.Frank is in my daily prayers as are you & Martha & all the family.God bless you and give you continued strength.
I know that you are praying, TBc. I can feel your prayers & we all still need them. It’s taking a lot of just plain WORK on Frank’s part now…he is so weak & he is really exhausted after each Therapy session. However, he never complains, he trys so hard to stay positive & people have stopped going to visit him so often. Here is this man, who has been my brother all of my life & I have more respect for him now, than I ever had before.
For 40 years he was a very successful businessman, lived on the Plaza in Kansas City, owned his own advertising agency, etc., ETC. He hit bottom so fast & fell such a long way. But, guess what…I have been blessed to know him as just a person these last 12 yrs. & he is an inspiration to me.
We’re going back to see him on Sat. His goal is to become ambulatory so that he can come back home & be eligible to live in an assisted living building. He’s now at the VA hospital, so he’s closer than he was. It’s about a 120 mi. round trip drive… But, it would be so good if he could be home where I could just drop by several times a week.
For a Special Favor
O glorious Apostle St. Jude, true relative of Jesus and Mary, I salute you through the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Through this Heart, I praise and thank God for all the graces He has bestowed upon you. Humbly prostrate before you, I implore you through this Heart to look down upon me with compassion. Despise not my poor prayer and let not my trust be in vain. To you has been assigned the privilege of aiding mankind in the most desperate cases. Just had to let you know, I just spoke with Frank on the phone. I had to find out if he needed anything when we go to see him tomorrow. After 3 months of being fed intravenously, he asked for a sack of HERSHEY’S MINIATURES. That may seem to be a small thing, but it’s a big jump to me. Also, learned that he has asked the doctors to reverse his colostomy & they are considering it. I’ve been thinking a lot about the day I “blew up” at my other brother & what can be done to heal that. I’ve not heard from him (or our other 2 siblings) since that day. They tend to “hang together” while Frank & I remain on the outskirts. Just to give you an idea about what I’m dealing with…about 8 yrs. ago, I helped to get Frank a job at the dept. store where I worked. He sold shoes & he was good at it. Both the store employees & his customers loved him. He worked there, until this past Christmas season when his health had deteriorated so badly that he couldn’t work anywhere. Anyway, several years ago, I was explaining to one of my sisters how well he was doing, how he had not missed a day of work since he was hired, etc. Her answer…I remember it word-for-word & wish I didn’t…“He’s a DRUNK & I don’t care if he hasn’t had a drink in years. That only means hje’s a dry DRUNK.” All 3 of our siblings felt that way. None had seen him in years & he asked me not to tell them that he was in the hospital. He also asked Martha not to say anything to them, but she did anyway. So that’s where we are, now. You might add me to your prayers. I ask for wisdom to know what to do.
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you for the Wisdom I need, as I don’t know what to do about this latest rift in my family. I don’t even know if I can or should do something. Please guide me & help me.

Oh Lord God in Heaven I praise & thank you for the renewed strength…both spiritual & physical…that I’m seeing in my Brother. He means so much to me & I miss our weekly jaunts to the grocery store, Library & sometimes dinner out. Bring him back to me if it is Your Will, it would be so good for him to be in this city where Martha & I can visit him more.

My dear friend I sympathise with you so very much.You are indeed in a difficult position.I will keep you in my prayers that God will grant you the ability to know what to do or not do and to guide you along the way He wants you to go.It would indeed be wonderful for all your family to unite together and for them to reunite with Frank.All you can do is pray and try to coomunicate with your other siblings that Frank would like to see them.If they decide not to take up the offer then they are making their choice.At least you will have tried your very best.Don’t make yourself ill with worry over this though my friend.I have been in very similar situations to the one you are in now.I had to learn the hard way,you cannot make people do things, all you can do is pray and offer them the opportunity to make the effort to visit with Frank.

Am feeling better, but I’m a little worried right now. Frank had some bleeding Mon., but the doctors thought that it was because he is exercising too much & not drinking enough water. However, when I tried to reach his cell phone this morning, he didn’t answer…nor has he answered the message I left. He is allowed to keep his phone with him when he’s at the VA. hospital, but not when he’s at KU. Med. I’ll start calling this afternoon & if he doesn’t answer, I’ll call the hospital. Loving God, while reading past posts it came into my mind that Frank and his faithful sister are doing reparation for the unloving and judgemental attitudes of their other sisters.
Thank You for granting such reparation for their salvation, but it’s very difficult for him and for the sister who loves and understands him.
It is never easy to follow in Jesus’ footsteps as the suffering servant (Isaiah 53 verses 1-12)
