I thank the Lord for having given you so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering your name. I see that you faithful people just kept on praying throughout my absence from this thread. THANK YOU!!

I have two sons who live away from here & they have both brought their families to see us this past week. One group came on the weekend of the 15th & the other came this past Fri. & left this morning. Oh, it did my good to see them. I am blessed with my children. Their kids are very involved in sports. Let’s see, we play soccer, baseball, basketball, & run track, so it’s hard for them to find a free weekend, but they always do. Between the visits, I drove to see Frank several times & that’s why I haven’t posted.

We’re entering a strange time in his illness. Their has been no crisis for about 2 weeks, but very little progress either. This past week, he was given liquid by mouth for the first time in two months…2 tbs. of cranberry juice & 3 of apple juice. Depression has set in & it’s hard, he has kept so positive through it all. I feel very separated from him, almost as if I’ve already lost him.

O glorious Apostle St. Jude, I salute you through the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Through this Heart, I praise and thank God for all the graces He has bestowed upon you. Humbly prostrate before you, I implore you through this Heart to look down upon my brother, Frank, with compassion. Despise not my poor prayer and let not my trust be in vain. To you has been assigned the privilege of aiding mankind in the most desperate cases. Oh, come to his aid that I may praise the mercies of God. All my life I will be grateful to you and will be your faithful client until I can thank you in heaven. Amen

Lord, give me strength, patience, faith & acceptance. Thank you for my wonderful husband, my children & my grandchildren who are praying for both myself & my Brother. Keep them all safe & free from harm. Amen.

Thank you so much tbcrawford. I told Frank about this prayer group & that a holy woman from England prayed for him every day. He asked that you all continue & said to thank you from the bottom of his heart.

He’s not getting distant with me…I don’t know how to explain this, but he seems to be getting distant from the world around him. I saw this in my Father two days before he died. It’s like Frank is in an “in-between place”. It’s probably just my imagination…when I get really tired, I can dream up all sorts of things. 🙂

Thank you also sidhe54. You’ve been praying for my brother since I first requested prayers. Thank you, also, for introducing me to Father Nelson Baker, named Servant of God by the pope. I’ll be praying for his canonization…thanks to you.

To all of you who have been praying for my Brother. We reached a turning point this past week & we made it. He is SO MUCH BETTER & I know that it is God answering our prayers.

When things began to happen, they happened fast. Two days ago, he was stable enough to be sent back to the VA. hospital he entered 70 days ago. First, they were able to take him off of the dialysis machine & he is doing fine with that. Next they felt confident enough to remove from his room, the HUGE heart monitor that’s been attached to him for so long. One of the drainage tubes from his colon surgery is gone & they hope to remove the second one tomorrow. I went to see him today & they completely “capped off” his tracheotomy tube & are watching him closely for any signs of breathing problems…but, during the time I was there…he handled it well & , if all goes well they’ll soon remove it completely & sew up the original incision. (Not sure you are aware of this, but for the first month he could not speak because of the trache tube & he hasn’t eaten anything since it was first inserted 2 months ago. Tonight, he’s going to try to eat his first meal since April 13.

I know that I’m not worthy of a miracle, but I can’t help but believe that this is God’s hand. No one (except for Martha & myself) had much hope that he would even live through all of it & now they are talking about him going to an assisted living place in a couple of months. :signofcross: That’s everything that we could have asked for & more. He could have his own rooms when he needs privacy & have a community room where he could visit, could come & go, etc. My greatest fear was that he would be living, flat on his back with all of those machines in some nursing home. (Well, it wasn’t my GREATEST fear, but close.)

Dear Heavenly Father, words fail me. Once the recovery began, it has happened so quickly. There is no doubt in my mind that these wonderful “prayer warriors” stormed heaven so fervently & so faithfully that You answered by healing my brother. Dear Lord, I pray for these people that their own needs be filled, that they know your peace & your love. Please keep me ever mindful of the power of prayer &, if it be Your will, help me to become like them.
