Prayers for my classmates

I have been a freshman in high school since August, and I’m beginning to realize many things: Almost nobody in my school is a virgin, almost everybody does marijuana, almost everybody gets drunk all the time, etc. I always thought that those were things that you only saw in movies?
Honestly, I never thought of myself as a sheltered person, but now I see that compared to so many people in my high school, I have experienced nothing in life. Peer pressure, I now see, is real, and I don’t want to give in to it.

So if anyone could pray for the people in my school, including me and my fellow friends who have yet to do any of the mentioned things, that would be wonderful. Also, a freshman girl is expecting a baby in February. 😊 Prayers for her would be appreciated as well.
 
Praying for the intentions of your classmates as well as your own.
 
Please hold onto yourself and remember your God and what you know to be good. God’s laws are written on our hearts and we can feel when we are doing wrong or when we witness the wrongs of this world. We become what we are surrounded by—please choose your friends wisely and they will help to keep you strong and grounded in your faith and what you know to be morally correct. I pray for your parents and your entire family as well as you.

I pray for the young frequently, especially those like you who may feel intimidated by the big adolescent rush to “gain experience” otherwise known as “too much too soon”, " playing grown up", or outright lost in sin. Trust me, many of these kids pay a big price later on. The smart ones will recover and find their spine again but many of them are deliberately losing important years of their lives and important parts of their souls.

Please do not let the lives of the lost, misled, and undisciplined make you feel less of a person. These people are like toddlers walking around in high heels and smoking pipes, pretending to be adults without any of the maturity.

Sex without marriage is like a forest fire: out of control and deadly. Sex in a marriage is like a warm, crackling fire in a fireplace: safe, steady, and exciting. The drugs are like a slow, suicide…and suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

In the name of God and all in heaven, save our teens and young adults from following each other into danger, injury, and death. May all the saints and angels protect them and guide them to more meaningful lives and truer loves.
 
Praying that the Lord may strengthen and guide you and your friends. Also praying that He may grant all necessary graces to your classmates. Praying for the freshman girl expecting a baby.

Dearest Hope Philomena-

I will keep you and your friends in my prayers that God would send His angels to surround you with safety in this darkened world. I will also keep the expectant mother, (so very young,) in my prayers…I had my first child at nineteen which I think now is way too young, I cannot imagine how scary that would all have been if I had been only a freshman in high school!
