Prayers for my Daughter

I everyone. Here I am again asking for prayers, but this time for someone in my family, my dd. She is 8 years old, soon to be 9 and has been sick for about two weeks now with a terrible cough. When I took her to the doctor for the first time, it was a croup cough and he gave her an injection of steroid and it helped so much. He also put her on an oral steroid and an antiobiotic. She was better for about two days than got worse again. I had to take her back to the pediatrician who said now it was allergic bronchitis. He didn’t add to her medicines, but said to give her breathing treatments if needed. That was on Thursday. This weekend she has coughed every few seconds. I would give her treatments and she would get better, but today nothing helped. I had to call the doctor who told me that if she gets to the point where she can’t take the coughing anymore to take her to the ER since it is Sunday. I gave her a treatment and than another immediately following that one. That helped a lot, but she continued to cough. We decided to wait to take her to her doctor in the morning. She fell asleep with her little chest hurting her. She has not been awaken by the cough, thank God. Anyway, her doctor is concerned for her. He suspects asthma since both myself and dh have it.

Please pray for her healing of whatever it is that is causing all this coughing. I hope the doctor will p(name removed by moderator)oint the problem. Thanks so much for your prayers and may God bless you.

Please dear Jesus, lay Your hand upon this little girl, Mariana, and aid her healing. Holy Spirit, please guide the doctors to rapidly determine the cause of her sickness, so that it can be alleviated and cured.

Thank you Trishie. Yes, Mariana is named after our Lady and St. Anne. I am glad you noticed that. Many people don’t. Thanks for praying for her and us.
 
Praying for Mariana!
Be careful not to give too many breathing treatments as it can cause the problem to get worse… The doctor probably already told you that.

Have her drink lots of cold water as it is a very good to soothe a cough.

Should she start coughing and can’t stop, open the freezer door and allow her to breathe the cold air for a few minutes.

Just a little advice from an RN and a mom with a child that has asthma.

You see Marianna and her family suffering. As Trishie said, “lay Your hand upon this little girl,” and take from her her suffering and that of her family. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
 
Thank you everyone for your prayers and advice. She did wake up in the middle of the night with a cough attack, but was able to go back to sleep after 20 minutes. I took her this morning to see the doctor again and he definately said she has asthma. He changed her breathing medicine to one that won’t make her have the tremors afterwards. She had her first treatment at noon today. She continues with a cough, but the doctor said it will gradually get better. I hope so for she needs rest and a break from the cough.

Pam, I thought the cold would make her cough more. My mother was with us at lunch yesterday and heard my dd coughing so much and said she needed warm drinks not cold, but the doctor told me cold drinks. I forgot to ask today for the reason. Also, one of the homeschool moms tells me to put vick vapor rub on her feet and put socks on, that will help with the cough. Have you and anyone else heard of this? I doubt this will help asthma though.

Pam, does your child use a “flow meter?” I think that is what the pharmacist called it. He told me ask for a prescription for one for my dd. He was explaining a little of it, but she blows into it and it measures her breath and he said that way an allergen or an irritant can be determined and eliminated.
