Hi,

My name is Sarah Margaret and I’m a 16 year old Catholic girl. I wanted to ask for your prayers for my family and our current situation. Without going into too much detail, my dad has been unemployed off and on since around 2010. This led to us losing our house and having to go rent a much smaller one (which was hard with 11 people.) We then had to move to a smaller house last Fall because it was free. I am very thankful to our kind landlords who are also Catholic.

It’s been almost a year since we’ve moved and we have to leave soon. My dad is still unemployed although he has had many times when he has almost had a job…only to come against some barrier. My mom is currently training for a job which is VERY hard with 9 kids. The frustrating thing is that my dad seems unwilling to do certain jobs and seems determined to start his own business (which is what he did before it failed due to the economy) despite the fact that we don’t have the resources and that his obsession with being a CEO is breaking our family apart.

And I know this has already gotten much longer than I planned…but if you could also pray for my eating disorder treatment.

Please prayer for opportunities, willingness, and peace for our family!

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.
 
I’m sorry to hear of your family’s situation. I will pray that things improve for your family.
Also I pray for your eating disorder that you may receive treatment and be well.
