You are doing some things right! You have posted here and ask for prayer. You are praying too! God is listening… ARE YOU listening to him?
 
Father, I continue to ask for guidance for Papasquash and his family. We try to listen but sometimes the stress of our issues inside our heads seems to drown You out. Could You please speak louder to Papasquash…and myself as well Father. In the name of Your Son Jesus I pray. Amen.

Things are improving. I’ve done some pretty severe belt-tightening and we are going on a marriage encounter next weekend.

A big part of my problem is communication. We’re getting along better. The dear wife is still worried about financial problems but steps are being taken to resolve them and we’re not at each other over it.
 
That’s all good news Papa! I’m glad you’ve been able to find ways to help the finances. There’s only two things you can do in that situation, either make more money (more business), or spend less money (tightening the budget belt).

And I am SO glad to hear about the marriage encounter weekend! Many years ago DW and I went to one and it helped bring us closer. The thing to do is to simply be open to hear what God wants from “you”, and “listen” to your wife. Sometimes I havea terrible time listening (hearing really, between the words). So listen to her heart, not just her words. 👍

Father, please continue to work in the lives of this couple and their family. Let your light shine upon them in their journey that they will find their way today, and see that there is so much more important than money in their lives. In the name of Your son Jesus I pray. Amen.

Thanks ChinaDad. I thought maybe this thread has disappeared. I was going to drop an update. We went on a marriage encounter and it was wonderful. We are talking like never before, and have our priorities in much better order. We met with a couple who had been praying for us throughout the Encounter weekend, and we’re having the Deacon at our parish over on Sunday evening for a bit of catechesis related to our oldest daughter’s upcoming first communion, and while he’s here, he’s going to bless the house.

Finances have improved a bit; we’re keeping it lean and mean and coming into a better season at work. Everyone’s prayers have helped. Amazing how that works.

Well, if I didn’t forget about you then you know God hasn’t forgotten about you either Papa. He’s working on things, but He wants things to be perfect for you…perfect takes a long time sometimes.

That’s all great news to hear Papa. I remember our marriage encounter weekend “many” years ago, and it was nice to get away and just think about our relationship, BUT you’ve got to keep working on it.
