Prayers for my Friend's Aunt

My friend’s aunt, Erica, was killed in a tragic hit and run accident. The driver has yet to be identified. She was out riding her bike at night and the driver was going really fast. The driver hit her, and she flew about twenty feet at a high speed. I’m pretty sure she passed instantly. Please pray for Erica’s family, specifically her children, niece, and sister-in-law. The situation has been pretty traumatic for all involved. Please also pray that they catch the person who did this terrible thing.

Dear Father in heaven,

I pray for the repose of Erica’s soul. I pray for Erica’s famly, give them strength through this difficult time, including her children, niece and sister-in-law.
Please also help the authorities to catch the culprit.
Grant this Oh Lord, through your one and only precious Son, the Lord Jesus Christ who reigns with you and in unity of the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever. Amen.

Father, I pray that the perpetrator who killed Erica might be brought to justice before they hurt anyone else with their reckless driving or in any other way. Please also lead them to face what they have done, confess, repent, and face their just punishment. If the person is in need of help for alcoholism, any other addiction, or any physical or mental health condition, please help them to get the help they need after they are apprehended.

Meanwhile give Erica’s family the sure confidence that You will do what is right and good; let Erica’s family entrust the evil done against them into Your sovereign hand and with that, be content. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

Update: they arrested the man who did it. Apparently he might’ve been drunk or high. I’m not sure what they’ve charged him with but they’ll likely charge him with at least a DUI and failure to render assistance if they don’t charge him with vehicular manslaughter. At least he’s off the streets.
