Prayers for my grandfather

A few years back, he recovered from what was thought at the time to be terminal lung, stomach, oesophageal cancers. He’s been going for regular scans and check-ups ever since.

A scan a few days ago showed he had a ‘spot’ on his lung, which is currently thought to be another growth. He is due to go for another set of scans in a few weeks time, with the prospect, should it have grown, of yet more chemotherapy, which made him so ill last time.

I ask for prayers both for the scan, for the tumour not to have grown and if chemo is needed, for it to be quick and less hard for him. Thank you.
 
Dear God, please work a miracle and let this beloved grandfather’s scans be free of any cancer or other serious disease. Please comfort him in his anxieties as he awaits his diagnosis, and please return him to his family in full health. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
 
Strengthen your servant, O God, to do what he has to do
and bear what he has to bear; that, accepting your healing
gifts through the skill of surgeons and nurses, he may be
restored to usefulness in your world with a thankful heart; through

Loving Father, we entrust IdiNaPut’s grandfather to Your merciful love.
Please bless him with peace of soul as he waits through long weeks for the required scans.
We pray that the tumour, if this is one, will shrink and disappear.
Yet, if treatment is required, please may it be gentle upon this man who has already endured so much.
We ask this in the name of Your beloved Son, Jesus.
 
Gracious and merciful Father, please come to his assistance.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal IdiNaPut’s grandfather . You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into IdiNaPut’s grandfather’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,

O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein that you are my Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart, to succor me in this my necessity. There are none that can withstand your power. O show me herein that you are my Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us that have recourse to thee. (3 times)

Prayer to Saint Peregrine

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty,” “The Wonder-Worker,” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.

For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
