Prayers For My Mother’s Feet

My beloved mother can use as many prayers as she can get. She has foot problems and needs new orthopedic shoes. The ones she currently has have literally worn out.

Unfortunately, these shoes cost. It’s going to take a huge chunk of next month’s check for her to get them since her insurance won’t cover them. (They covered the cost of her original shoes but don’t cover replacements.)

Please pray that she gets her pay next month (government is in danger of being shut down again) so she can get these desperately needed shoes.

And please, if you can, spare a small prayer for me, her caregiver.

In the US, Social Security and Disability checks don’t get affected by government shutdowns.

One category of government employee continues to report to work, even in the midst of a shutdown-- I know several people like that. It’s like, “Huh? Government shutdown? What shutdown?” 🙂 Another category of government employee gets put on paid leave-- I know several people like that as well. Those people are more like, “Yay, time off! Take your time getting back to normal, guys!” 🙂 Is there a third category that gets put on unpaid furlough? I haven’t run into any of those, online or in person.

There are essential employees and non essential employees. When Mama worked at the VAMC, she was one of the essential employees.

Still, there was one government shutdown where they were promised their back pay of 8 weeks and never got it. That’s why she’s worried now. And yes, I’ve told her that our checks shouldn’t be affected and to trust in Jesus to see us through.

I’ve also told her that I’ll pay for her new shoes myself. She’s nixed that idea. Unfortunately, this isn’t a situation in which she can wait. And I want to do this for her.

My plan is to have the shoes made for her next week, weather permitting. She’s already cancelled 2 dr appts because of the condition of her current shoes.

Please keep praying for her.
 
Praying for your intention

Philippians 4:6-7 : Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (lilypadrees’s Mother). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into lilypadrees’s Mother’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

My mother had another unexpected issue with one of her feet this morning. If it doesn’t get better, I will have to take her to the ER.

She has asked me not to go into specifics at this time. So I’m asking for additional prayers for complete healing.
