Prayers for my mother-in-law

My wife woke up to a phone call at 3 am this morning: her mother’s house burned to the ground during the night. She’s alive and safe, but everything is gone. She’s in shock, and my wife’s been with her since it happened. Please pray for Marlene that she may find strength to deal with this nightmare.

She lived in the house for 34 years; my wife grew up there. It’s been a rough night for us all. Also, please pray for our sons, who aren’t awake yet and don’t know what happened. They’re not going to react well at all.
 
Be assured of my prayers for your mother-in-law, your wife and family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular Marlene, and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen.

Tuesday’s rosary and Devotion to the Infant Jesus of Prague went out to all the petitioners on this board; that includes you.

May the Peace of the Risen Lord be upon You and your mother-in-law and the rest of your family. Although I cannot even begin to imagine the loss that your family is feeling right now, I do know that you are taking consolation that your mother-in-law was saved PERSONALLY from this horrible situation.

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon Marlene and the boys
in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach their searching hearts
to know that God’s Love
for them is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with them.
    And, help them to bring this
