Hi all – I’ve been on here before asking for prayers concerning my skin. I am a 30 year old female who has been suffering from adult onset acne. I used to have beautifully clear skin and over the past few years, my face has become damaged.

Often times, I am so insecure about it that I don’t want to leave my house. I have had mental breakdowns because of it and have tried almost everything out there to fix it (save for Accutane). I have gone to doctors numerous times and I actually get told things like, “Look on the bright side, acne is a sign of youth!”. It hurts when people don’t take it seriously or deny that it has awful effects on those who are suffering from it.

I recently went to a plastic surgeon to discuss some issues I was having with my eyelids and he actually said, “You’re a very pretty girl, but your acne is destroying your face”. Perhaps he was just trying to help, but his comment has stuck with me and it makes me spiral into depression when I think about it as there’s nothing I can do to remedy my acne.

Please pray for my skin… I have been left with some scars and hyperpigmentation all the while still breaking out. I’m not sure how much longer I can stand having this happen to my face.
