Please keep praying everyone. It’s a rough night here. Spencer called and was crying and scared about how he will be able to stay clean when he gets out of rehab. I think they’re getting down to the nitty gritty in there now and it’s just so hard but I am keeping faith. It’s just so heartbreaking to see the most wonderful person in your life go through this and being powerless to help. I feel like my heart is breaking.

On the upside, I think he was getting off the phone to go and speak with a counselor. I’m just trying to trust God because I know He can work things out in far better ways than I would ever dream of.

Lord please comfort Amie and heal her son Spencer.Please grant Spencer will get the right help he needs to overcome his addicitons and grant Spencer strength and courage to get through the necessary rehab.Please also grant Amie the strength and courage to get through this very worrying time.As a mother myself of a son of that age I would be so very worried.Lord in Your mercy hear our prayers Amen

I just wanted to thank you all so much. When I read your prayers, your kindness brings tears to my eyes. Spencer is doing well in rehab. We get to visit him for an hour a week which does us all good. And of course, we are all taking it one day at a time and trusting God.

O Eternal Father, You know best of all the struggles in the mind, body and soul. In light of this struggle that many of your children share, please regard Spencer and his family in your loving kindness. Send them strengthening graces, and help them to grow in the virtues of hope and patience. Strengthen Spencer’s health care providers so that they may give him every possible defense against his addiction. We hope and trust in his ability to overcome this.

Most of all, help us to love one another fully at this difficult time, just as Jesus commanded. We ask this through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns, forever and ever. Amen.

Loving God, be near to Your child Spencer as he is in rehab and help him improve. Give him the healing his body needs. Give Your wisdom to those helping him at this facility and uphold the dear parents of Spencer. Give them Your support and help as I know they care so deeply for their son. In the precious name of Your beloved Son, Jesus our Lord we pray,amen.

Prayers offered for your son Spencer’s recovery, and for strength for your family to help guide him and keep him safe from relapse when he returns home.
 
I just want to thank everyone again for all your prayers. They mean so much and give me lots of strength.

Spencer is still in rehab. Due to get out on September 13 but he is considering staying another couple of weeks to do an extension program. He has even considered going to a halfway house when he gets out. While of course I want him home, I want him to do what is best for him and the halfway house sounds like a very supportive nature with access to counselor and meetings and stuff on site so I’ll support whatever he chooses. He seems to have matured by about ten years in three weeks time which is a good thing.

This is really the most heartbreaking thing to see my son suffer but I think of the Blessed Mother who certainly saw her Son suffer and stood right there with him and I get strength from that and from your prayers. It seems like every day God does something to keep us all going. Thanks again, so much!
