Prayers for my Vocational Discernment

Hello fellow CAF people :),

I was hoping to get your prayers for my vocational discernment, as I was recently accepted into the Camaldolese Hermitage in Ohio, and will be entering there as a hermit. They are a cloistered, contemplative community. I will be leaving for there on August 1st. The 1st 2 weeks they will just have me stay in the guest house so that I can more fully prepare myself spiritually, and if all is good, then they will allow me to enter the Aspirant stage, which will last 3 months, then the Postulant stage, and so on and so forth.

Until a person makes their final profession, it really is still a time of discernment, as that person can decide to leave the community at any time until then.

Lord, please illuminate suko during this time of discernment and gently and confidently steer this soul, in accord with the Father’s merciful will, with help from guiding angels, toward that vocation which will fulfill suko. Instill in suko’s heart many graces for faith, hope, love, joy, wisdom, understanding, and temperance. Protect suko from all fallen temptations of this temporal world, and lead him toward the eternal garden of rest. Have mercy, Lord. Our Lady, angels, and saints, pray with us. Amen.

Prayer for Vocations

God, in Baptism you called me by name
and made me a member of your people, the Church.
Help all your people to know their vocation in life,
and to respond by living a life of holiness.
For your greater glory and for the service of your people,
raise up dedicated and generous leaders
who will serve as sisters, priests, brothers, deacons, and lay ministers.

Send your Spirit to guide and strengthen me
that I may serve your people
following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ,
in whose name I offer this prayer.
Amen.
 
May God bless you with the grace of discernment. May the Holy Spirit guide you in all your decision making. In Jesus name, Amen!
