I was injured at work back in March. I was off work and then on light duty. My employer offered me a job which I can do with my disability and advised me to close my worker’s comp case and be put back on regular duty. I did as she asked and requested my doctor to release me. Not they have taken back the job they promised me and want me to go back to my old job which I can not do in the shape I’m in. Please pray that I’m able to find a job that I can do with my injuries. Thank you.:(😦

Praying to St. Joseph for you to secure employment you will be able to handle.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

Prayer to St. Anthony for Employment

Blessed St. Anthony, who in life was ever mindful of the needs of the afflicted, consuming himself in the service of God and for the good of souls, who was the enemy of idleness and a tireless worker in the vineyard of the Lord, beseech God to grant msammiem a suitable job, which may procure for her and her family a decent livelihood, and be at the same time a means of personal sanctification and of real service to others – without causing further injury to her back. We ask Our Merciful Father through Jesus Christ Our Lord, amen.

A Prayer for Workers
O glorious Joseph! Who concealed your incomparable and regal dignity of custodian of Jesus and of the Virgin Mary under the humble appearance of a craftsman and provided for them with your work, protect with loving power your son, msammiem, especially entrusted to you.

You know his anxieties and sufferings, because you yourself experienced them at the side of Jesus and of His Mother. Do not allow msammiem, oppressed by so many worries, to forget the purpose for which he was created by God. Do not allow the seeds of distrust to take hold of his immortal soul. Remind all the workers that in the fields, in factories, in mines, and in scientific laboratories, they are not working, rejoicing, or suffering alone, but at their side is Jesus, with Mary, His Mother and ours, to sustain them, to dry the sweat of their brow, giving value to their toil. Teach them to turn work into a very high instrument of sanctification as you did. Amen.

St. Joseph, please pray and intercede for msammiem’s work situation, that justice will prevail and God’s will be done. Amen.

Oh dear. Never, never, never, close a workman’s comp case at the advise of your employer. This is one of the fastest ways they have of working things in their favor and eventually letting people go. I have seen it done many times.

Just some info: When a company has to file a workman’s comp case their insurance rates go up for 3 years following the initial claim. That makes you a financial burden to them. Also, work injuries must be followed however long the person needs related care. So that could mean you have a related issue five years from now and they have to pay.

I do pray you can find suitable work that does not cause you further harm from your past injuries. But I have to say your chances of staying where you are, are slim. Start looking. Use this experience to warn others. Companies will do everything they can to minimize workmans comp claims including creating temporary, nonsense positions, they have no intention of keeping people in.

And believe it or not, (as a previous manager), managers are taught how to do this by the insurance companies working with the agency you work for. Been to the seminar’s on how to get people to work even though the doc has said they need to be in bed! It is really disgusting and one of the reasons I landed up leaving management. I refused to do this to people. It happens all the time.

Wake up folks. Most companies are not there for you, they are there for themselves.
