Dear friends,

I am sorry to waste your time with such a selfish prayer request, but I feel like I’m in Hell. I can’t even trust my best friend: not because of him, but because of my paranoia. My entire mind is beset by fear of human beings. People are so precious, but I feel I can’t identify with them, like I’m not human… they’re so distant, like statues or paintings. Even though I know my brothers and sisters are real, thinking, breathing, immortal souls, I feel like they’re outside of me, not close to me. They don’t seem real or worth talking to; I just want to be alone because it seems everyone is laughing at me, or whispering about me.

I can’t pray… I feel like God is angry with me for being so mentally depressed, as if He despises me because I am afraid of His beautiful gift of life. I wish I was dead, but I know suicide is evil. I can’t bring myself to die, because Hell is the result; even though I want to be with God so much, and be away from all the laughter and gossip swirling around me, I can’t do it. Regardless, I can’t love or trust anybody, because I am so worried and paranoid about everyone. The whole world seems to collapse in on me, just to attack me and hate me and deride me. 😦

Next Sunday, the 14th, I will be talking to a very holy and psychologically-trained priest. He is so filled with great love for Christ that I have some hope. Please pray that I get better and become free to choose between joy and sorrow, rather than my current slavery to a mindset of death and sorrow. Nothing seems real…

My name is Ian, if you wish to make it personal.

Praying for your healing and happiness, GloriousOrder / Ian.

Today is the Feast Day of a Canadian Blessed.
Blessed Frederic Janssoone, pray for us!

Other saints: Blessed Frédéric Janssoone (1838 - 1916)
He was born in Flanders, the youngest of thirteen children. When he was nine years old, his father died, and he left school to help support his mother, until her death in 1861. He then joined the Franciscans and became a priest. After serving as a military chaplain and preaching in the Holy Land, he was sent to Canada on a fund-raising tour in 1881, settling there permanently in 1888. By his preaching and his writing he led many people to bear authentic witness to the Gospel and share his closeness to Christ.

Praying for you with a Bible verse from today’s Liturgy of the Hours.

Mid-morning reading (Terce) Deuteronomy 1:31 ©
The Lord carried you, as a man carries his child, all along the road you travelled.

Blessed St. Dymphna, please intercede for our brother Ian.

Father, you have made us for yourself, we can only be truly whole and complete when we reside in you. Please give Ian relief in his sufferings. Sickness of his mind and body results in him living in fear, and is a great impediment to serving you. Release Ian from these shackles and help him to reclaim control of his life and to live without fear of his fellow man. Deliver him from every evil that keeps him bound in this way. Give him your peace, peace beyond all understanding.

All these things, we ask in Jesus’ name.

Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as patroness of those afflicted with mental and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials, and especially those for whom we pray. (mention request)

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to your divine will. Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so much desire.

We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.

Praying for you and for all…

God’s Peace, Love, Mercy, Blessings, Help, Healing and Comfort be with you and to us all.

Sweet St. Dymphna, help Ian like you helped my family! AMEN!

Lord, please heal Ian through this holy priest he speaks of, and grant him the abililty to experience joy in his life. Grant Ian the couage, strength and patience he needs to cope with his illness, and let there be a medicine for him to take away his paranoia. May he offer up his sufferings co-redemptively and not let any of this suffering go to waste. All this suffering can make him a saint if he only keeps trusting in you and offering up his sufferings with love and patience. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.

Loving Father - please allow Ian to feel your great love for him.
Please send people into Ian’s life to provide the support and help he needs to overcome this challenging crisis. May this priest provide the the direction needed, may Ian be open to the recommendations and follow so that this pain he suffers may be lifted.

You are not alone Ian.
May you feel the peace of God and the joy of the resurrection with renewed health.
Blessings,

Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Comforter, grant strength and courage to your servent, Ian.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee,
Blessed art Thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb Jesus.
Holy, Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I am praying for you FIERCELY right now. Your story sounds so much – almost identical – to what my son (age 13) is going through right now. There is no place our Lord cannot go, and no evil and torment He cannot conquer. It makes no difference if you cannot pray right now. I will pray for you. It makes no difference if you cannot reach up to God, He is reaching down to YOU.

My heart breaks for you in your suffering. I see it daily with my son. I am so happy you have a priest who can consult with you, pray with you. There is hope… always hope in the Lord. You will not suffer constantly. God can transform anything – even the deepest pain – into something for His glory.

I pray now: Heavenly Father, I lift up to you your child who is suffering. Grant your healing, loving touch. Make your peace be known and felt. Send courage, strength and respite for this cross to be carried. In your loving son’s name, our Lord, Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Dear Ian,

I am just now beginning my own battle with bipolar schizophrenia with IMMENSE Paranoia. I mean I cannot even go to the grocery store without worrying about people reading my thoughts and seeing how evil and unfit for society I am.

Imagine a trip to Church! Your post was posted a while back. Have you benefited from your treatment? Lemme know, you are NOT ALONE!

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen.
