Please offer your prayers here through the intercession of Sts. Anthony of Padua and Jeanne Jugan to combat the threats against our beloved elderly living a life of dignity through its natural end. May they be assure of God’s love for them now and forever.

For my parents, John & Margaret in particular.

Sts. Anthony of Padua, & Jeanne Jugan pray for our beloved elderly!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Dear Saint Anthony, your prayers obtained miracles during your lifetime. You still seem to move at ease in the realm of minor and major miracles. Saint Anthony, Performer of Miracles, please obtain for me the blessings God holds in reserve for those who serve Him. Pray that I may be worthy of the promises my Lord Jesus attaches to confident prayer. [for John & Margaret and all the elderly]

Holy Mary, conceive without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee.

O Loving St. Anthony, you were a special witness of God’s power and love in your day. Hear us now as we seek your powerful intercession in our time. We lift up our prayers for all families. Help them to grow in their faith; may they persevere in unity, love, and peace. Bless our children, protect our young people, and be a companion to those in their senior years. Help them when they are tested by sickness, suffering, loneliness, or whenever they experience loss in their lives. Help all of us in our daily struggles, giving us hope and peace. Pray for us, St. Anthony, so that we may continue to grow in God’s love. Intercede for us through Christ our Lord! Amen.

Dear St. Jeanne Jugan, who said: "Love God very much, so that you can look after the aged well, for it is Jesus whom you care for in them.” Intercede for our elderly to preserve the dignity of their lives, and ask Jesus to grant those who care for the aged greater love for Him through serving them. Amen

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Prayer For My Aging Parents

Dear Lord God, how I thank You for my parents Who have been such a wonderful support to me throughout the whole my life. They taught me of You from being a child and I cannot thank You enough for placing me in a family that knows and loves You.

Father, they are now elderly and becoming infirm - and increasingly they are both struggling to carry out the simplest of tasks.

Lord I pray that I may be given the strength and the ability to care for them both as long as they need my help. I know that this is a mammoth undertaking and of myself I do not have the strength or resources to undertake such a task – and yet I want to honour my parents and You Lord, by caring for them in their twilight years of their lives.

Help me Father to tend for them lovingly and wisely and keep them I pray from the unpleasantries of ill health and from the difficulties of becoming bed-ridden.

Lord they are both Your children and I pray that Your love will surround them and that Your blessing will pour down in great measure upon each of them - until You take them to be with Yourself… in Jesus name I pray,

Amen.

Dear St. Anthony and St. Jeanne, you served God by showing His love to the poor and the aged. Pray for us that we may learn from you to serve our elderly with the love of God for His Son Jesus. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, may our beloved elderly know their dignity and feel God’s love for them.
Amen

Lord Jesus Christ, you heard the prayers of your two disciples at Emmaus and stayed with them at eventide. Stay, we pray you, with all your people in the evening of their life. Make yourself known to them, and let your light shine upon their path; and whenever they pass through the valley of the shadow of death, be with them to the end. This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.

St. Anthony and St. Jeanne, pray for our beloved elderly!
