We need to pray for our priests. First of all, the number of men becoming priests is really going down, and secondly we have been dealing with all the abuse and scandal in the Church. Also, society looks so far down on priests and on the priesthood. We need to pray for more holy, good men to join the priesthood, and we need to pray for all the holy and good men we DO have in the priesthood! We also need to pray for the men discerning a call to the priesthood.

Dear God, please bless all of our holy and wonderful men You have called to the priesthood. Please provide them with strength and wisdom and faith to do all the special tasks that Your Church requires of them. Please bless all the men that are discerning Your call in their lives, that they take the time and really discern where You want them to be. Please give them the courage to pursue their vocations in a society that doesn’t want them to. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
 
I am praying for them. I should really remember to do so more often.
 
Pray for all clergy, i.e., bishops, priests and deacons as we all need them. Pray for us daily. Just make the intention. God will remember, even if we don’t.

I will continue to pray for them, especially those unfairly maligned by the frailties of others.
