I’m truly sorry for what your sons are going through. It is a tragic yet common sight in the modern world for people to stray from the Faith in their early adult years or even teen years, largely due to guilt of their sins and a desire to sin without repentance. They’re also pushed to do it by the pressures of the world, which makes people feel cruel, arrogant, superstitious, ignorant or even prejudiced for being Christian, and particularly Catholic. I sincerely hope and pray that your children may come to see that there is nothing else in this world that can give us complete satisfaction and joy except God and His Church, through which we meet and fall in love with Him. I also pray that they may see that the pressures of this world and the supposed shame of their sins are not worth losing a relationship with our Creator, who loves us more than we can even imagine and only wants to be with us forever. Finally, I pray for you, that you may be a constant example of love, patience and devotion to them, praying for them continually. I extend this prayer to all those in the world struggling with their faith, and I ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, your sons’ guardian angels, and St. Michael the Archangel. God bless.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou
O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God
Thrust into Hell, Satan and all the evil spirits
Who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
