This comes a bit late – the elder President Bush died 10 days ago – but I was away for a while, and I cannot find it previously posted in the Prayer Intentions forum.

Eternal rest grant unto George H. W. Bush, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

In the US, the national flag is being flown at half-staff for a period of 30 days (as is customary for Presidents). When you see the lowered flag, may it remind you to offer a short prayer such as the Sign of the Cross.

I think we were praying for him on the thread about his death, but it’s fine to pray for him here as well, of course.
May he rest in peace.
I will add him to my plenary indulgence list for an upcoming day.
