Prayers for relationship building with estranged son

My 16 year old son is arriving here for eight weeks. Last time he was here, he admitted that there is a barrier between us, but would not go into detail.

I finalized a divorce last year with his mother, whose multiple affairs I could no longer tolerate. She involved all the kids in falsehoods about the divorce and my son’s friend’s father told me he personally witnessed the parental alienation my ex-spouse practiced with my son.

My son and I had weekly calls until two months ago when he abruptly stopped answering. He also stopped answering texts and emails. I don’t know what caused this, but I have eight weeks to try to rebuild my relationship with him.

Please pray for my efforts to be fruitful. Thank you.

how to win him back. Remove the obstacles
to communication and let not guilt prevent
indymb to love his son with God’s Love!

Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to you with my anger, my disappointments and my hurt. I ask that you cover me with your love. Heal me in all the places that need to be healed so I can be a person that emits health and warmth, not bitterness and resentment.

Lord, please release me from any guilt as my parents’ happiness is not my responsibility. Help me to be a good example of what true forgiveness really is.

I ask that you give me wisdom on how to be there for each one, as I know that I am not the only person hurting in this painful situation. Help me to talk to each one in a sensitive yet stern way when they start to cross the line and put each other down in front of me.

Lord, mature me beyond my years to handle this crisis they way you would. Lead me in the way everlasting so I will not regret my youth like so many who have been in the same situation as I am in right now.

For my siblings, help me to encourage, to be a good ear listen and to find the right support if I am not enough. Lead us to the right Bible verses to stand on during our family storm. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.”
