Prayers for Seeking Employment in the Television News Industry

Please pray for me to find a job in a local small market television news station either as a television news reporter right off the bat or as a television news producer and eventually being a news reporter or a hybrid of the two. I graduated from the University of Maryland in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, and have had difficulty finding a job (see mentioned above) in the television news industry in a small, local television news station affiliate ever since despite having multiple news internships and journalism-related experience under my belt.

It has been very frustrating and difficult for me in my job search from hiring managers leading me on about a position to rejecting my application before or after the interview process to shelving a position to everything. Everyone that I know who are entering the industry either straight out of college, immediately out of graduate school, or from another job has had success, but not me.

I have not gotten any help, advice, or guidance from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism and its staff and faculty/professors for my job search, and the school failed to prepare and help me find a job in this field. They abandoned me during my college years, but especially in my final year of school and beyond when I really needed help.

This has taken a toll on me and my family on a daily basis. I do not know what is going to happen to me. Please pray for me.

Prayer of the Unemployed

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, you wanted all who are weary to come to you for support. Lord, I am worn out by my inability to find wage-earning work. Day after day, my worry and fear grow as the rejections of my applications mount. I am able and willing to work but I cannot find a worthwhile job. Please help me to obtain one soon so that I can support myself in a decent way.

However, if it is your will that I wait longer, enable me to worry less and to be able to take advantage of the time available to get closer to you. Let me realize that there are other ways to bring about your kingdom on earth besides salaried work. Help me to make use of them for the time being so that I may continue to grow as a person for your greater glory. Amen.
 
Praying for your intentions and for Medical Doctors that may be seen in the future for it is nice to have already prayed for them (Our Lord knows who they are even if not born yet:wink:). Prayer of Apology and Thanksgiving because of human forgetfulness to say “thank You” to Our Lord. . . . 😉 🙂
