Prayers for someone excommunicated

Please join me in praying for a local woman who has been officially excommunicated. I grew up with her children and this family was extremely devout, always at Mass, their children served at Mass, the family cleaned the church, planted flowers, you name it, they were there. This is officially confirmed by our diocese, it’s not a rumor and now that I have recovered from my shock a deep sadness has set in for this lady and her family and her friends. I extend my sadness to them because the actions that resulted in her excommunication are being supported by her family/friends.

Can you say why she was excommunicated?

That is very sad. I will certainly pray for this woman and her family. Why exactly was she excommunicated?

Sadly, these things do happen. I hope that she can come back into to full communion with the Church soon. Prayer is the answer.

In the 1983 Code of Canon Law (CIC) eight other sins (besides abortion) carry the penalty of automatic excommunication: apostasy, heresy, schism (CIC 1364:1), violating the sacred species (CIC 1367), physically attacking the pope (CIC 1370:1), sacramentally absolving an accomplice in a sexual sin (CIC 1378:1), consecrating a bishop without authorization (CIC 1382), and directly violating the seal of confession (1388:1).

She has been “ordained” as “Roman Catholic Womenpriest” thru the Roman Catholic Womenpriests, Inc. She now holds illicit invalid “Masses” in people’s homes. It’s very sad.
