Hey everyone, Happy Advent

I am need of some prayers. I’m in college and finals started last week and continue into this week. I guess I didn’t realize it at first, but the stress is really starting to get to me. I’ve been really absent minded lately, and easily distracted. My thoughts have been all over the place and a little hard to control.

I am asking for you all to pray that I put my trust and faith in Jesus, and put all the needless worries aside, so that I can focus on preparing for His birth.

Also, prayers that I may offer up this cross in union with Our Lord’s suffering on the cross.

I’m in a situation where I might be losing my kidneys … and I’ve also found out that going on dialysis is not what people think it is … many many people die on dialysis every day … I am much older than you … 56 … and I spent my entire life worrying about everything I was going through at the time … I’ve finally found out that all that worrying was a waste of time … live life, enjoy life, do the best you can … things will work out … pray to Jesus and Mary … live your life to the fullest and always remember to love the Lord … any other worries are meaningless. Please take this as just some friendly advice.

Of course I will still pray for your intentions … God Bless You.

Rbaker–Sounds like you have a plan. You can’t miss when it’s just you and God. This powerful prayer is very effective in examinations. It has to be said before appearing in the examination. O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing. In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked. Through Christ our Lord. St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us. Amen. I kneel at your feet. Please pray to God for me, especially for the healing of my kidneys. Look with compassion on me in my suffering. Beg God to give me good health. If it is not God’s will to cure me, then give me strength to bear my cross patiently and to offer my sufferings in union with my Crucified Savior. Lord, I cannot believe how much time I waste. Please
help me be more intense about my studies. I really am
interested in the things that the professor says in class.
But when I finally sit down to study, I welcome distractions
from studying so easily. You have given me a good
mind, and you want me to explore your creation. Give me
enthusiasm, Lord, for the subjects I am studying.
Keep my eyes open and my mind on topic. Help me learn the
material so that I can explain it clearly and convincingly to
others, especially my friends.
Jesus, you must have spent a lot of time reflecting on life to
think of the parables that are recorded in the Gospels.
Make me a good, critical thinker and help me to express myself
clearly. Help me to use my mind for your greater Glory. Amen.

Praying that the exams be as easy as 2+2=4, 4+4=8. Praying also in Thanksgiving ahead of time because of human forgetfulness to say “thank You” to Our Lord for all the blessings He pours on us . . . and we do not even realize it. 😉 🙂

Creator of all things, true source of light and wisdom,
origin of all being,
graciously let a ray of your light penetrate
the darkness of my understanding.

Take from me the double darkness
in which I have been born,
an obscurity of sin and ignorance.

Give me a keen understanding,
a retentive memory, and
the ability to grasp things correctly and fundamentally.

Grant me the talent of being exact
in my explanations and the ability to express myself
with thoroughness and charm.

Point out the beginning,
direct the progress,
and help in the completion.

I ask this through Christ our Lord.
