Vigil: Aug.14; Feast Day: Aug. 15; 2017

Prayer for the Assumption of the Blessed Mother

Father in heaven, all creation rightly gives You praise,
for all life and all holiness comes from You. In the plan
of Your wisdom, she who bore Christ in her womb
was raised body and soul in glory to be with Him in heaven.
May we follow her example in reflecting Your holiness
and join in her hymn of endless love and praise.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lord Jesus, lead all souls to heaven
especially those most in need of thy mercy.
Our Father…Hail Mary x10
Glory Be…Fatima Prayer…Amen!
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

The angels were struck with amazement be holding the dormition of the Most Pure;
seeing how the Virgin was taken up from earth to heaven.
The limits of nature are overcome in you, O pure Virgin,
for birth giving remains virginal, and death is the prelude to life:
a virgin after childbearing and alive after death!
You ever save your inheritance, O Theotokos.
