Friends :),

Several years ago, a small store opened in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was dedicated entirely to selling Catholic books, gifts, clerical clothing, and altar equipment. This was crammed into a tiny corner of a huge shopping mall in the downtown district. In 2008, it moved to a much more prominent location on the main street of the downtown area. On All Saints’ Day in 2010, they opened a second branch on the outskirts of the city. God has blessed them singularly.

What we at Veritas need is a great deal of prayers. Last summer, posters on the glass storefront with pro-life, pro-marriage messages and images were smeared with dirt, excrement, and all sorts of rubbish. The store had to install bubble-cameras overlooking the entrance to stop this behaviour, at great damage to its finances. It is struggling to find volunteers among today’s wealth-focused youth who are too busy to volunteer.

Here is the website: veritasbooks.ca/index.html (If you’re in Canada, please do patronise us. Our income goes to charities, and Charity is Love for our neighbours)

Almighty God, have mercy on we sinners: who are trying with all our might, by the help of Your grace, to disseminate your holy word throughout the world with books and other media. Give is your blessings, Father, and unite the struggles of Veritas with the holy will of your Son’s passion. Lift Veritas up from among the petty cash-makers of the shopping districts, and make it an outlet for your holiness! We beseech you most lovingly!

Praying for your intentions….

Lord Jesus, You have said,
“Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.”
With confidence in Your loving heart
which offers rest to weary souls,
we come to You in this time of special need.
In Your unfailing love,
read the prayer that is written on our hearts,
and grant the grace that we ask of You,
in accordance with Your holy will.
In Your name we pray.
Amen.

Pater noster, qui es in cælis,
Father our, Who are in Heaven,

sanctificetur nomen tuum:
may be sanctified name Your:

Adveniat regnum tuum:
May come reign Your:

Fiat voluntas tua sicut in cælo,
may be done will Your just as in heaven,

et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum
and on earth. Bread our daily

da nobis hodie:
give to us today:

Et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
And forgive us debts our,

sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
just as we forgive debtors our.

Et ne nos inducas in tentationem.
And do not us lead into temptation.

Sed libera nos a malo. Amen.
But free us from evil. Amen.

Lord, please help Veritas to flourish and grow into an outlet. Bless this business and the people who run it. May your will be done in their lives, with no obstacles to your holy will. Please protect this business from vandals and from all harm. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer.
